This air filter relocation kit is designed to reduce heat soak by relocating the air filter in front of the radiator. This is a great upgrade and essential for anyone aiming to get the full potential from the OEM CT9 turbocharger. Included in this kit is a high quality silicone hose and an alloy air intake pipe.

Note: This kit only fits Starlet EP82/91 with TD04 turbo conversion. Modification may be required to the silicone air intake pipe dependant on manifold type.

Toyota Starlet GT Turbo EP82 Air Filter Relocation Kit

What is it?

A universal high-performance foam intake filter using multi-layer foam filtration, with 360 degree airflow. It is a reusable filter, serviced by cleaning and re-oiling rather than replaced like a paper element.

Will it fit my intake pipe?

The neck covers 90mm down to 63mm using the Filtech reducing rings, which come as a set of five. Match to your intake pipe outside diameter and clamp with a worm drive clip, or a T-bolt on a boosted install.

Why foam rather than paper or gauze?

Foam traps a high volume of dirt through its depth rather than just at the surface, which suits dusty and off-road conditions where a paper element clogs quickly. It is also washable and reusable. The trade-off is that it needs oiling correctly.

How do I clean and re-oil it?

Wash the foam in warm soapy water or a dedicated filter cleaner, rinse thoroughly and dry completely - never refit a damp filter. Re-oil evenly with proper foam filter oil until uniformly coloured, without over-saturating. Do not use engine oil: it is too thin, drains out and can be drawn into the intake.

How often should I service it?

It depends entirely on conditions - dusty, off-road or agricultural use needs far more frequent attention than road use. Inspect regularly and clean when visibly loaded. A clogged foam filter costs more airflow than a dirty paper one.

Will it gain me power?

On a standard engine, usually very little on its own - the air filter is rarely the restriction. It earns its keep on a modified engine, alongside other intake work, or when replacing a clogged or genuinely restrictive original box. The reliable benefits are serviceability and reusability.
