What do you supply for agricultural use?
PVC reinforced, wire reinforced and layflat hose for water, irrigation and pump work, corrugated reinforced hose for suction, silicone SuperFlex and air ducting, aluminium semi-flexible ducting, rubber drain-down hose, plastic joiners and pond hose connectors, hose clips and assorted clip boxes, clip drivers and pipe cutters, plus builders bulk bags and aggregates.

Which hose do I use on a pump?
It depends which side. On the suction side you need a hose with a steel helix that will not collapse - our PVC wire reinforced at 3-12 bar or the corrugated reinforced hose. On the discharge side, layflat is the practical choice at 4 bar because it rolls up compactly, or reinforced braided hose for higher pressure. Never put layflat on a suction line.

What sizes and lengths can I get?
Layflat from 25mm to 102mm in coils to 100 metres. Wire reinforced from 10mm to 51mm in coils to 50 metres. Reinforced braided from 5mm to 51mm in coils to 100 metres. Corrugated from 19mm to 51mm. Coils are considerably better value per metre than cut lengths if you have a long run or several hoses to make up.

Will these hoses survive outdoors year round?
PVC is UV resistant and copes with outdoor use, but it stiffens noticeably in cold weather and water left standing in a coil can freeze and split it. Drain hoses fully before winter, store coiled and out of direct sun where you can, and avoid dragging them over sharp gravel and concrete edges, which is what wears the outer through.

What temperature will they take?
The PVC range runs -10C to +65C, which covers water, irrigation and general transfer. For anything hot - engine, exhaust or process air - you need silicone or aluminium ducting instead, at -70C to +310C and -30C to +150C respectively. Tell us the temperature and the medium and we will confirm what is suitable.

Should I buy assorted clip boxes?
For a farm or a plant workshop, they earn their keep. An assorted box gives a spread of sizes so the right clip is in the shed when something needs fixing, rather than being a trip into town. We do them across worm drive, mini and rubber-lined P-clips in 2, 5 and 10 of each size, in W1 zinc and W4 stainless.
