Aluminium Heat Shield is a lightweight, high-performance thermal barrier engineered to protect components and surfaces from excessive heat exposure in automotive, industrial, and mechanical environments. Manufactured from durable T6063 aluminium, the shield combines strength with excellent heat resistance, making it effective in managing radiant and conductive heat transfer. With operating capabilities from -40°C up to +220°C and peak resistance of +240°C, aluminium heat shielding ensures reliable performance under extreme conditions. Its rigid yet formable structure allows easy shaping and installation around exhaust systems, turbochargers, manifolds, and other high-temperature assemblies. Designed for both thermal insulation and mechanical protection, aluminium heat shields enhance durability, extend component life, and improve overall system efficiency by maintaining lower surface and surrounding air temperatures.

Key Features:

  • Material: T6063 aluminium with solid structure for strength and heat resistance.

  • Operating Temperature: -40°C to +220°C.

  • Peak Temperature: Up to +240°C.

  • Construction: Rigid aluminium sheet, formable for custom applications.

  • Applications: Engine bays, exhaust systems, industrial machinery, and thermal management projects.

The build quality of the aluminium heat shield makes it a reliable solution for demanding environments where thermal control is critical. Using high-grade T6063 aluminium, the shield maintains structural integrity while effectively reflecting and dispersing heat. Its solid aluminium construction provides both reinforcement and long service life, even when exposed to continuous high temperatures or rapid thermal cycling. The corrosion-resistant properties of aluminium add extra durability, especially in automotive and industrial applications where moisture and debris are present. Easy to cut, bend, and fit, aluminium heat shielding offers flexibility for custom installations without compromising mechanical performance. The smooth, rigid finish ensures excellent protection against radiant heat, while also adding a professional appearance to high-performance systems.

Aluminium heat shields are widely used in automotive, motorsport, and industrial applications for managing heat around sensitive components. Typical uses include exhaust insulation, turbo protection, engine bay heat management, and safeguarding hydraulic or pneumatic lines. In manufacturing and plant maintenance, aluminium heat shields are applied to machinery and ducting to improve efficiency and reduce overheating risks. With its balance of lightweight construction, strength, and high thermal resistance, aluminium heat shielding is a dependable choice for medium to high-temperature protection in automotive, agricultural, and industrial fluid handling systems.

Aluminium Heat Shield

✅ Fits 2.25"–3.5" Filter ✅ Lightweight ✅ Max Airflow

What is a heat shield for?

Protecting an air filter or nearby components from radiant engine and exhaust heat. An open filter drawing hot engine bay air is breathing less dense air, which undoes much of the benefit the filter was fitted for.

What size filters does it fit?

2.25 to 3.5 inch filters, which covers the great majority of aftermarket cone and foam filters including our Filtech range. Check your filter's body diameter rather than the neck size, since it is the body the shield has to clear.

What is it made from?

T6063 aluminium - lightweight, corrosion resistant and effective at reflecting radiant heat. It needs no coating to survive in an engine bay and will not rust. Available in silver and black.

Does it actually make a difference?

Yes, where the filter is genuinely exposed to radiant heat from the exhaust manifold, turbo or radiator. Cooler intake air is denser, which is the point of an induction change. On a filter already tucked into a cool corner the gain is smaller.

How do I fit one?

Position it between the filter and the main heat source - usually the exhaust manifold or turbo side - and mount it to a solid bracket or existing fixing point. Leave clearance around the filter so airflow is not choked, and make sure it cannot vibrate against anything.

Should I also feed cold air to the filter?

It is the logical next step. A shield stops radiant heat, but ducting air from outside the engine bay - behind the grille or a wing vent - is what actually lowers intake temperature. The two together are considerably more effective than either alone.
