Reducing Male Connector for PU Polyurethane Ducting is a robust and practical fitting designed to join polyurethane ducting of two different diameters securely. Manufactured from high-strength polypropylene, the connector provides excellent resistance to impact, wear, and a wide range of environmental conditions. The stepped reducing design allows for straightforward size transitions between ducting runs, while the ribbed male profile ensures a tight, reliable grip inside the ducting wall. This connector is lightweight, non-corrosive, and easy to install, making it ideal for use in dust extraction, woodworking machinery, agricultural ventilation, and general industrial ducting systems where dependable airflow management and durability are required.

Key Features:

  • Material: Polypropylene for toughness, impact resistance, and long service life.

  • Design: Reducing stepped male connector for joining different duct sizes.

  • Profile: Ribbed male fitting ensures secure push-fit inside polyurethane ducting.

  • Function: Provides a smooth transition between ducting diameters to maintain airflow efficiency.

  • Finish: Non-corrosive, lightweight, and resistant to moisture and chemicals.

  • Operating Temperature: Suitable for use in standard dust, fume, and air movement systems.

  • Applications: Dust extraction, woodworking, agricultural ventilation, industrial ducting, and fume control.

The durable polypropylene construction ensures strength and reliability while remaining easy to handle and install. Its reducing male profile allows ducting systems of varying diameters to be joined without compromising flow performance. The ribbed grip prevents slippage under airflow or vibration, maintaining secure system integrity. Resistant to wear, moisture, and many industrial chemicals, the connector is well suited to heavy-duty use in workshops, factories, and agricultural facilities. Its lightweight, push-fit design reduces installation time and simplifies maintenance or modifications to ducting systems.

Typical applications include reducing connections on woodworking extraction lines, linking flexible polyurethane ducting to fixed pipework, agricultural ventilation systems, dust and fume control equipment, and general air movement setups. The Reducing Male Connector for PU Polyurethane Ducting provides an effective and durable solution for adapting different ducting sizes while maintaining secure and efficient airflow management.

How to measure OD

hose fits over OD bore OD = the surface the hose clamps onto
1
Measure across the outside
Rigid pipe, tube and joiners are sized by the outer wall, because that is the surface a hose seals against. The bore and wall thickness follow from it — they are not the ordering size.
2
Use vernier calipers
Set the outer jaws across the widest point. A tape measure round a curve reads low by a millimetre or two — enough to buy the wrong size.
3
Take three readings, keep the largest
Rotate 60° between each. If they disagree the tube is oval; size to the biggest figure so the hose still clamps down evenly.
4
Match the hose to this OD
The hose sleeves over the tube, so the hose you want is the one whose internal diameter equals this outside diameter. A 51 mm tube takes a 51 mm ID hose.
Order by OD, always. Tube, rigid pipe and joiners are listed by outside diameter — the surface the hose clamps onto. Pair one with a hose of the same ID. On reducers, quote both ends, largest first.

Reducing Male Connector for PU Polyurethane Ducting Plastic Joiner Auto Silicone Hoses 65mm > 50mm Black

Reducing Male Connector for PU Polyurethane Ducting

✅ 3D Printed ✅ ABS Plastic ✅ Thick Walled

What is it used for?

Air, dust and light material transfer - workshop dust extraction, woodworking and CNC swarf removal, fume extraction, agricultural grain and feed handling, and general industrial ventilation. Its abrasion resistance is the main advantage over PVC.

What sizes and lengths do you stock?

Available in outside diameters from 65mm to 50mm to 200mm to 150mm, in black, white, red and blue. Order by internal diameter to match the spigot or machine outlet it connects to.

What temperature will it take?

-40C to +90C, manufactured to Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene Plastic. For genuinely hot air - engine exhaust or process air above that - you need silicone glass fibre ducting, which is rated -70C to +310C.

Can it be used on the suction side of a fan?

Yes - the embedded wire helix stops it collapsing under negative pressure, so it works on both sides of a fan or extractor. That is the fundamental difference between ducting and plain flexible hose.

How do I cut it to length?

Cut the wall between the helix coils with a sharp knife, then cut the wire with side cutters, and tape or dress the cut wire end so it cannot work through the wall or catch a hand.

How do I join lengths together?

Use a duct connector sized to the bore and secure each side with a worm drive clip or ducting clamp. We stock ABS male and reducing connectors for PU ducting in 50mm to 200mm outside diameter, covering 20 reducing pairings.
