90° Stainless Steel Elbow is a precision-formed connector designed for use in high-performance and heavy-duty systems across automotive, marine, agricultural, and industrial applications. Manufactured from high-grade stainless steel, the elbow delivers exceptional strength, corrosion resistance, and long service life, even in harsh or high-temperature environments. The 90° bend allows pipework to be routed cleanly around tight spaces while maintaining smooth airflow or fluid transfer. Its polished stainless finish ensures durability and a professional appearance, making it suitable for both performance upgrades and fabrication projects. In addition to coolant and induction systems, this stainless steel elbow is widely used in custom exhaust fabrication, where its heat resistance and structural integrity are critical.

Key Features:

  • Material: High-grade stainless steel for superior strength and corrosion resistance.

  • Construction: Precision-formed 90° elbow with smooth bore for efficient flow.

  • Bend Angle: 90° for right-angle routing in hose, pipework, and exhaust systems.

  • Lengths Available: Typically supplied with 150 mm leg lengths for secure coupling or fabrication.

  • Operating Temperature: Withstands extreme heat and cold, from -50°C to +250°C and beyond for exhaust use.

  • Durability: Resistant to heat, vibration, chemicals, and saltwater exposure.

  • Applications: Turbocharger and intercooler systems, coolant and air induction pipework, marine cooling, agricultural machinery, industrial fluid transfer, and custom exhaust fabrication.

  • Finish: Polished stainless steel surface for long-lasting durability and professional appearance.

The stainless steel elbow provides outstanding resilience where aluminium alternatives may not withstand the same thermal or environmental stress. The 90° bend offers a clean routing solution for tight system layouts, while the smooth bore design reduces turbulence and pressure loss. The polished finish protects against corrosion and delivers a professional look suitable for visible engine bay and exhaust applications. Designed for use with reinforced silicone or rubber hoses, or for welding into a rigid exhaust or metal pipe system, this elbow is a versatile component for demanding builds.

Applications include intercooler and turbocharger pipework, coolant and intake systems, marine cooling circuits, heavy-duty vehicles, industrial machinery, and bespoke exhaust fabrication. 90° Stainless Steel Elbows are widely used in motorsport, custom fabrication, and engineering projects where maximum durability, corrosion resistance, and high-temperature tolerance are required.

How to measure OD

hose fits over OD bore OD = the surface the hose clamps onto
1
Measure across the outside
Rigid pipe, tube and joiners are sized by the outer wall, because that is the surface a hose seals against. The bore and wall thickness follow from it — they are not the ordering size.
2
Use vernier calipers
Set the outer jaws across the widest point. A tape measure round a curve reads low by a millimetre or two — enough to buy the wrong size.
3
Take three readings, keep the largest
Rotate 60° between each. If they disagree the tube is oval; size to the biggest figure so the hose still clamps down evenly.
4
Match the hose to this OD
The hose sleeves over the tube, so the hose you want is the one whose internal diameter equals this outside diameter. A 51 mm tube takes a 51 mm ID hose.
Order by OD, always. Tube, rigid pipe and joiners are listed by outside diameter — the surface the hose clamps onto. Pair one with a hose of the same ID. On reducers, quote both ends, largest first.

What is it used for?

Changing the direction of a hard pipework run - intake, boost, coolant and industrial pipework - without using a flexible hose. A metal elbow holds its shape under pressure and keeps the bore round for flow.

What size do I order?

Order by outside diameter, because that is what your hose or coupler slides over - match it to the internal diameter of the silicone or rubber hose you are using. Measure with vernier callipers rather than a tape. Available in outside diameters from 13mm to 102mm.

What material and rating is it?

304 stainless steel, polished, rated -40C to +220C. 304 is the standard corrosion-resistant grade - it resists rust, coolant and road salt without any coating.

What leg lengths does it have?

150mm on each side, giving 300mm total length. Trim from the plain section if you need it shorter, leaving at least 25-30mm of straight leg beyond the bend for the hose and clamp to seat on, and deburr inside and out so the edge cannot score the hose bore.

Are the ends beaded, and does it matter?

These have plain precision-machined ends. That makes them easy to slide hose onto and lets you set the hose position exactly, which suits coolant and low-pressure runs. For pressurised charge air, choose a beaded joiner instead.

Aluminium or stainless - which should I choose?

Aluminium is lighter, cheaper and rejects heat faster, which makes it the usual choice for intercooler and intake pipework. Stainless is stronger, far better in salt environments and takes a superior polish, so it suits marine work and visible show pipework. Both are rated -40C to +220C and can be mixed in one system.
