PVC Unreinforced Clear Hose is a lightweight, flexible, and economical tubing designed for low-pressure transfer of water, air, fuel, and oils in domestic, commercial, and industrial environments. Manufactured from high-quality soft Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC), the hose features a smooth bore construction that ensures efficient flow while remaining easy to cut, coil, and install. Its transparent body allows quick visual inspection of the conveyed medium, making it particularly suitable for monitoring fuel, oil, or chemical lines. Conforming to GB/T 13527.1-92 standards, the tubing provides dependable performance across a wide range of low-pressure applications where clarity, flexibility, and chemical resistance are required.

Key Features:

  • Material: Flexible soft Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) with smooth bore design.

  • Reinforcement: None (unreinforced for lightweight handling and flexibility).

  • Transparency: Clear PVC for easy monitoring of flow and fluid quality.

  • Fuel & Oil Resistance: Suitable for contact with light oils, lubricants, and fuels.

  • Operating Temperature: -10°C to +65°C (peak +70°C).

  • Working Pressure: 1 bar to 1.5 bar depending on size.

  • Burst Pressure: 3 bar to 4.5 bar (2–3:1 safety factor).

  • Internal Diameter Range: 3 mm to 25 mm.

  • Wall Thickness: 1 mm to 2 mm depending on size.

  • Bending Radius: 20 mm to 180 mm depending on size.

  • Standard: GB/T 13527.1-92 compliant.

The unreinforced PVC construction provides excellent flexibility, making it ideal for installations requiring tight bending radii. Its smooth bore ensures unrestricted flow, while the transparent material allows users to easily check for blockages or monitor fuel and oil transfer. Resistant to light petroleum products, lubricants, and oils, the hose is versatile enough for a variety of low-pressure fluid handling tasks. Despite its lightweight design, it maintains good durability and ease of handling in both fixed and portable applications.

Applications include aquarium and pond systems, laboratory setups, fuel and oil lines, lubrication systems, light chemical transfer, air lines for non-critical use, cable protection, drainage, and general-purpose low-pressure duties. PVC unreinforced clear hose offers a practical and cost-effective solution where visibility, flexibility, and resistance to fuels and oils are required.

How to measure ID

ID OD wall reinforcement plies ID = bore · OD = ID + (2 × wall)
1
Measure the pipe, not the old hose
Heat and age make a used hose swell and go out of round. Take your reading across the metal outlet the hose slides onto — that measurement is your ID.
2
Use vernier calipers
Set the outer jaws across the widest point of the pipe. A tape measure round a curve reads low by a millimetre or two — enough to buy the wrong size.
3
Take three readings, keep the largest
Rotate 60° between each. If they disagree the pipe is oval; size to the biggest figure so the hose still seals.
4
Round to the nearest listed bore
Never go up: a bore wider than the fitting will not grip, whatever the hose is made of. If you land between listed sizes take the smaller bore, and secure it with a clip.
Order by ID, always. Every hose on this site is listed by internal diameter. OD is given for clearance only — it changes with wall thickness and ply count, so it is never the ordering size. On reducers, quote both ends, largest first.

What is it used for?

Low-pressure transfer - gravity feeds, drains and overflows, tank vents and breathers, and light transfer work where flexibility and clarity matter more than pressure.

What sizes and lengths do you supply?

Available in internal diameters from 3mm to 25mm, lengths from 1 Metre to 30 Metres (Full Coil). Order by internal diameter to match the outside diameter of the barb or spigot it pushes onto. Full coils work out considerably better value per metre than cut lengths.

What pressure and temperature is it rated for?

Working pressure runs from 1.5 bar on the smallest bore down to 1 bar on the largest, with burst pressure from 4.5 bar down to 3 bar across the 3mm to 25mm range. The operating range is -10C to +65C, built to BS6066. PVC also stiffens noticeably in cold weather, so uncoil it gently on a frosty morning rather than pulling it straight.

Can I use it under pressure or suction?

No to both. It has no reinforcement, so there is no meaningful pressure rating, and it will collapse instantly under suction. Use it for gravity feeds, drains, vents and light transfer only. For pressure use the braided reinforced version; for suction use wire reinforced.

Is it safe for drinking water or food use?

No - this is a general-purpose industrial hose and is not certified for potable water or food contact. If you need a certified food-grade or potable hose, tell us the application and we will point you at an appropriately certified product.

How do I connect it?

Push it fully onto the barb or spigot - warming the end in hot water makes larger sizes far easier - and secure with a stainless worm drive clip. On higher-pressure runs, two clips at right angles give a better grip. Cut the hose square so it seats evenly.
