Rubber Fuel Filler Hose is a heavy-duty, oil- and fuel-resistant hose designed for transferring petrol, diesel, and other petroleum-based fuels in automotive, marine, and industrial applications. Constructed with a durable NBR (Nitrile Buna Rubber) inner tube, reinforced with a spiral steel wire helix, and protected by a tough CR (Chloroprene Rubber) outer layer, the hose provides outstanding strength, flexibility, and resistance to fuels, oils, and environmental conditions. Built to SAE-30R7 standards, it ensures reliable performance in demanding fuel handling systems. With an operating temperature range of -30°C to +85°C (and peaks up to +100°C), Rubber Fuel Filler Hose delivers long-lasting service in both static and dynamic installations.

Key Features:

  • Inner Layer: NBR (Nitrile Buna Rubber) for excellent fuel and oil resistance.

  • Reinforcement: Spiral steel wire helix for crush resistance and structural stability.

  • Outer Layer: CR (Chloroprene Rubber) for weathering, abrasion, and ozone resistance.

  • Operating Temperature: -30°C to +85°C (peak +100°C).

  • Working Pressure: 10 bar across available sizes.

  • Burst Pressure: 30 bar (3:1 safety factor).

  • Internal Diameter Range: 38 mm to 57 mm.

  • Wall Thickness: 5 mm to 6 mm depending on size.

  • Bending Radius: 200 mm to 280 mm depending on diameter.

  • Standard: SAE-30R7 compliant.

The Nitrile rubber inner tube ensures safe compatibility with petrol, diesel, and fuel blends, while the spiral steel helix reinforcement prevents collapse and kinking under suction or bending. The tough Chloroprene outer layer provides resistance to ozone, abrasion, and weathering, extending hose life in harsh working conditions. With a 3:1 safety margin between working and burst pressure, the hose is engineered for reliability and safety in critical fuel handling systems. Its flexibility allows for easy installation in confined engine bays and marine compartments.

Applications include automotive fuel filler necks, marine fuel systems, generator fuel connections, construction machinery, agricultural equipment, and general-purpose fuel transfer. Rubber Fuel Filler Hose is the ideal solution where strength, durability, and resistance to fuels and oils are essential for safe and efficient operation.

How to measure ID

ID OD wall reinforcement plies ID = bore · OD = ID + (2 × wall)
1
Measure the pipe, not the old hose
Heat and age make a used hose swell and go out of round. Take your reading across the metal outlet the hose slides onto — that measurement is your ID.
2
Use vernier calipers
Set the outer jaws across the widest point of the pipe. A tape measure round a curve reads low by a millimetre or two — enough to buy the wrong size.
3
Take three readings, keep the largest
Rotate 60° between each. If they disagree the pipe is oval; size to the biggest figure so the hose still seals.
4
Round to the nearest listed bore
Never go up: a bore wider than the fitting will not grip, whatever the hose is made of. If you land between listed sizes take the smaller bore, and secure it with a clip.
Order by ID, always. Every hose on this site is listed by internal diameter. OD is given for clearance only — it changes with wall thickness and ply count, so it is never the ordering size. On reducers, quote both ends, largest first.

The metre

What is it used for?

Connecting a vehicle's filler neck to the fuel tank. It is a large-bore hose with a steel wire helix so it will not collapse or kink as it curves round the bodywork.

What size and length do I order?

Order by internal diameter, matched to the outside diameter of the pipe stub or spigot it slides over. Measure the pipe with vernier callipers rather than the old hose, which stretches in service and reads large. Available in internal diameters from 38mm to 57mm, lengths from 0.25 Metre to 1 Metre. Full coils work out considerably better value per metre than cut lengths.

What standard is it built to?

It is manufactured to SAE J30 R6. Buying to a recognised standard matters here - it means the construction, pressure rating and performance have been benchmarked rather than simply described.

Is it compatible with E5 and E10 petrol?

Yes - the nitrile-based compound is formulated for modern ethanol-blended fuels as well as diesel and oils. Ethanol attacks unsuitable rubber from the inside, so an older line can look perfectly sound externally while breaking down internally and shedding debris into the fuel system.

How do I know when it needs replacing?

Squeeze it. Hard and brittle, or spongy and swollen, both mean it is done. Look for surface cracking when you flex it and crusty residue or staining round the clips, which indicates seepage. Replace on condition rather than waiting for a failure.

How should it be secured?

Proper hose clips, one at each end, positioned squarely over the barb or spigot. Support long runs with rubber-lined P-clips so the hose cannot chafe against a bracket, panel or wiring loom, and keep it clear of exhaust components.
