Alloy Elbows add a twist to fluid and air management systems. Featuring angles including 15, 45, 60, 90, 135, and 180 degrees, these elbows offer unparalleled flexibility in redirecting and optimizing airflow. Their robust construction ensures seamless airflow transition, while the beaded ends guarantee secure connections.

What is in the alloy tubes and elbows range?
Straight 1 metre aluminium tube in 8mm to 102mm outside diameter, beaded and unbeaded straight joiners in 8mm to 102mm across 20 lengths, T-pieces for three-way branches, and 45, 90, 135 and 180 degree elbows in 13mm to 102mm. Between them you can fabricate a complete hard pipe system and join it with silicone couplers.

What is the material and rating?
T6063 aluminium alloy with a 1.6mm wall throughout, rated -40C to +220C. T6063 gives good strength and corrosion resistance at low weight, sheds heat well - which matters in charge air pipework - and needs no coating to survive in service. It will not rust the way mild steel does.

How do I build a system from these parts?
Work out the route, then make it up from straight tube and elbows joined with silicone coupling hoses and clamps. The flexible joints let you take up small alignment errors, absorb engine movement, and take the system apart later. Cut tube to length with a pipe cutter and deburr both inside and outside so the edge cannot score the hose bore.

Beaded or unbeaded joiners - which should I use?
Beaded for anything pressurised, because the raised lip gives the clamp a mechanical stop and stops the hose blowing off under boost. Unbeaded for coolant, breathers and low-pressure air, where the smooth end is easier to slide hose onto and lets you position the hose exactly. We stock both across the same size range.

What leg lengths do the elbows have?
The 45 and 90 degree elbows have 150mm legs each side, giving 300mm total. The 135 and 180 degree elbows have 100mm legs, giving 200mm total. That leaves plenty to trim, but always leave at least 25-30mm of straight leg beyond the bend for the hose and clamp to seat on.

Aluminium or stainless steel?
Aluminium is lighter, cheaper and rejects heat faster, so it is the usual choice for intercooler and intake pipework where keeping charge temperatures down is the point. Stainless is stronger, better in salt environments, and takes a better polish, so it suits marine work and visible show pipework. We stock both and they can be mixed in one system.
