Silicone fluorocarbon-lined rubber hoses are hoses that are used to transfer fuel or oil in high-temperature or harsh environments. The interior of the hose is lined with fluorocarbon, which is a synthetic material that is resistant to fuels and oils.

These hoses are available in a variety of sizes and colours to suit different applications. They can be used with fittings of the same diameter or with fittings of different diameters, depending on the specific needs of the application. They are often reinforced with a textile or metal braid for added strength and durability.

Fluorosilicone is a variation of silicone rubber that maintains excellent high temperature stability and mechanical properties, while offering greater resistance to fuel, oil and other chemicals.

Designed for Oil and Diesel transfer and limited Petrol vapour. NOT for continuous Petrol/fuel use or for fuel lines.

What makes these different from standard silicone hose?

They have a fluorosilicone inner lining. Standard silicone is excellent with coolant, water and air but swells and breaks down in contact with petrol, diesel and oil. The fluorosilicone liner gives hydrocarbon resistance on the inside while keeping silicone's heat resistance, flexibility and long service life on the outside. They are built to SAE J30 R6.

What is in the range?

Straight 1 metre hose from 6mm to 63mm, straight couplers from 6mm to 63mm in lengths of 50mm to 950mm, 45 and 90 degree elbows from 6mm to 102mm, long leg elbows with 300mm legs from 13mm to 76mm, and the classic wrapped hose and elbows from 13mm to 51mm. There is also a mixed off-cut box for short pieces. Everything in the range is black.

Is it compatible with E5 and E10 petrol?

Yes - the fluorosilicone liner handles modern ethanol-blended petrol, diesel, oils and fuel vapour. This is precisely the situation where older plain silicone or rubber hose fails: ethanol attacks unsuitable hose from the inside, so a line can look perfect externally while it is degrading internally and shedding material into the fuel system.

What temperature range does it cover?

-60C to +180C for the fluorolined range, compared with -50C to +250C for plain silicone. The narrower top end is the trade-off you accept for hydrocarbon resistance, and it is still far beyond what rubber fuel hose can manage. It comfortably covers normal engine bay temperatures.

Why is it all black?

The fluorosilicone liner and the specialist construction are not offered in colours. If you are building a system where the hose is visible and you want a colour match, the practical approach is to use coloured standard silicone on the coolant and air side and black fluorolined hose on the fuel and oil side - which is what most builders do anyway, and it makes the two circuits instantly distinguishable.

What is the classic wrapped hose?

It has a fluorosilicone inner layer, fine mesh polyester yarn reinforcement, and a wrapped VMQ silicone outer that gives it a textured cloth-wrapped appearance rather than a smooth one. It is popular on classic, vintage and restoration work where a modern smooth silicone hose would look wrong, while still giving modern fuel compatibility underneath.
