Continuous Silicone Hose is a flexible, multi-ply reinforced hose designed for extended runs in coolant, air, and fluid transfer systems across automotive, marine, agricultural, and industrial applications. Manufactured with premium silicone inner and outer layers reinforced by multiple fabric cord plies, the hose provides excellent strength, thermal stability, and durability. Supplied in continuous coil lengths, it reduces the need for multiple joiners, simplifying system layouts and improving reliability. With a smooth internal bore for efficient flow and a robust wall construction for pressure resistance, continuous silicone hose delivers dependable performance under thermal cycling, vibration, and demanding operating conditions.

Key Features:

  • Material: High-grade silicone for durability, heat resistance, and flexibility.

  • Reinforcement: Multi-fabric cord layers for pressure stability and long service life.

  • Construction: 3–4 ply wall thickness depending on bore size.

  • Lengths Available: 20 metre continuous coils (13–32 mm sizes) or 5 metre continuous coils (51 mm size).

  • Operating Temperature: -50°C to +180°C continuous service (peak +250°C).

  • Working Pressure: From 9 bar (small bore) down to 4.5 bar (large bore).

  • Burst Pressure: Typically 3x working pressure, up to 27 bar.

  • Standard: SAE J20 R3 compliant.

Continuous silicone hose provides superior flexibility and reliability compared to standard cut lengths. Its reinforced construction ensures dimensional stability under pressure, while the smooth bore promotes efficient coolant or air transfer with reduced flow restriction. Supplied in long coils, it reduces the number of joints and clamps required in extended system runs, improving both efficiency and durability. The hose resists cracking, ageing, and environmental exposure, ensuring long-term service life in demanding applications.

Applications include extended coolant runs in automotive engines, intercooler and turbo pipework, marine cooling circuits, agricultural machinery, and industrial thermal management systems. Continuous Silicone Hose is widely used in custom fabrication, OEM installations, and heavy-duty maintenance where long-length, high-performance hose is essential.

How to measure ID

ID OD wall reinforcement plies ID = bore · OD = ID + (2 × wall)
1
Measure the pipe, not the old hose
Heat and age make a used hose swell and go out of round. Take your reading across the metal outlet the hose slides onto — that measurement is your ID.
2
Use vernier calipers
Set the outer jaws across the widest point of the pipe. A tape measure round a curve reads low by a millimetre or two — enough to buy the wrong size.
3
Take three readings, keep the largest
Rotate 60° between each. If they disagree the pipe is oval; size to the biggest figure so the hose still seals.
4
Round to the nearest listed bore
Silicone stretches slightly. If you land between sizes, go down to the smaller bore for a tight seal — never up.
Order by ID, always. Every hose on this site is listed by internal diameter. OD is given for clearance only — it changes with wall thickness and ply count, so it is never the ordering size. On reducers, quote both ends, largest first.

What size do I order?

Order by internal diameter, matched to the outside diameter of the pipe stub or joiner it slides over. Measure the pipe with vernier callipers rather than the old hose, which stretches in service and reads large. Available in internal diameters from 13mm to 51mm, lengths from 1 Metre to 5 Metres (Full Coil), in red, blue and black.

What is it rated for?

Continuous service from -50C to +250C, built to SAE J20 R3. Working pressure runs from 8.3 bar on the smallest bore down to 1.5 bar on the largest, with burst pressure from 27 bar down to 4.5 bar across the 13mm to 152mm range. Smaller bores are 3 ply and larger bores step up to 4 ply - each size is built with the reinforcement it needs, so you do not have to specify it.

Can I use it for fuel or oil?

No - standard silicone swells and degrades in contact with petrol, diesel and oil, including the oil mist carried in a breather line. Use our Fuel & Oil silicone, which has a fluorosilicone liner built to SAE J30 R6.

Can I bend it round a corner?

Only gently. Straight hose has a minimum bend radius and the larger the bore the larger it is - force it tighter and the bore kinks, restricting flow and creating a stress point. For a real change of direction use a moulded elbow; we stock 45, 90, 135 and 180 degrees.

How do I cut it cleanly?

Use a sharp blade or a dedicated hose cutter and cut square in one decisive stroke. Never use a hacksaw - it drags the reinforcement plies and leaves a frayed edge that will not seal. If you have several cuts to make, a proper hose cutter pays for itself quickly.

What colours are available?

red, blue and black. Colour is cosmetic and makes no difference to the specification. If you are building a full system, order everything together - shades are consistent within a batch but can differ slightly between them.
