Rubber Unreinforced Fuel & Oil Hose is a lightweight, highly flexible hose designed for the transfer of petroleum-based products including petrol, diesel, lubricating oils, and related hydrocarbons. Manufactured from black smooth NBR (Nitrile Butadiene Rubber), both the inner and outer layers provide excellent resistance to oils and fuels while maintaining durability under demanding conditions. With no reinforcement, the hose offers maximum flexibility for routing in confined spaces, making it ideal for low to medium-pressure fuel and oil delivery. Conforming to BS EN ISO 11424:2007 standards, it ensures reliable performance with an operating temperature range from -20°C to +100°C (peaks up to +120°C).

Key Features:

  • Material: Black smooth NBR (Nitrile Rubber) inner and outer layers for fuel and oil resistance.

  • Reinforcement: None – unreinforced for maximum flexibility.

  • Operating Temperature: -20°C to +100°C (peak +120°C).

  • Working Pressure: 5 bar across all sizes.

  • Burst Pressure: 15 bar (3:1 safety factor).

  • Internal Diameter Range: 3 mm to 10 mm.

  • Wall Thickness: 2 mm to 2.5 mm depending on size.

  • Bending Radius: 28 mm to 60 mm depending on diameter.

  • Standard: BS EN ISO 11424:2007 compliant.

The smooth bore NBR construction provides excellent compatibility with fuels, oils, and lubricants while offering resistance to swelling, hardening, and cracking. Its unreinforced design makes the hose exceptionally flexible and easy to install in tight spaces, while still delivering stable flow under low to medium pressures. Lightweight and durable, it is simple to cut, handle, and fit, making it a practical choice for a wide variety of oil and fuel handling systems.

Applications include fuel and oil transfer lines, lubrication systems, diesel and petrol delivery, automotive and marine fuel systems, and general hydrocarbon handling. Rubber Unreinforced Fuel & Oil Hose is an economical and reliable solution for industries requiring flexibility, oil resistance, and consistent performance in fuel and lubricant transfer operations.

How to measure ID

ID OD wall reinforcement plies ID = bore · OD = ID + (2 × wall)
1
Measure the pipe, not the old hose
Heat and age make a used hose swell and go out of round. Take your reading across the metal outlet the hose slides onto — that measurement is your ID.
2
Use vernier calipers
Set the outer jaws across the widest point of the pipe. A tape measure round a curve reads low by a millimetre or two — enough to buy the wrong size.
3
Take three readings, keep the largest
Rotate 60° between each. If they disagree the pipe is oval; size to the biggest figure so the hose still seals.
4
Round to the nearest listed bore
Never go up: a bore wider than the fitting will not grip, whatever the hose is made of. If you land between listed sizes take the smaller bore, and secure it with a clip.
Order by ID, always. Every hose on this site is listed by internal diameter. OD is given for clearance only — it changes with wall thickness and ply count, so it is never the ordering size. On reducers, quote both ends, largest first.

What is it used for?

Transferring petrol, diesel, lubricating oils and other hydrocarbons in automotive, marine, agricultural and industrial systems.

What size and length do I order?

Order by internal diameter, matched to the outside diameter of the pipe stub or spigot it slides over. Measure the pipe with vernier callipers rather than the old hose, which stretches in service and reads large. Available in internal diameters from 3mm to 10mm, lengths from 1 Metre to 100 Metres (Full Coil). Full coils work out considerably better value per metre than cut lengths.

What standard is it built to?

It is manufactured to BS EN ISO 11424:2007. Buying to a recognised standard matters here - it means the construction, pressure rating and performance have been benchmarked rather than simply described.

Is it compatible with E5 and E10 petrol?

Yes - the nitrile-based compound is formulated for modern ethanol-blended fuels as well as diesel and oils. Ethanol attacks unsuitable rubber from the inside, so an older line can look perfectly sound externally while breaking down internally and shedding debris into the fuel system.

How do I know when it needs replacing?

Squeeze it. Hard and brittle, or spongy and swollen, both mean it is done. Look for surface cracking when you flex it and crusty residue or staining round the clips, which indicates seepage. Replace on condition rather than waiting for a failure.

How should it be secured?

Proper hose clips, one at each end, positioned squarely over the barb or spigot. Support long runs with rubber-lined P-clips so the hose cannot chafe against a bracket, panel or wiring loom, and keep it clear of exhaust components.
