Rubber Unreinforced Fuel & Oil Hose

Rubber Unreinforced Fuel & Oil Hoses are designed for low-pressure applications where flexibility, ease of installation, and resistance to fuel and oil are essential. Suitable for use in motorcycles, lawnmowers, garden machinery, small engines, and generators, these hoses provide a reliable solution for transferring petrol, diesel, and oil in non-reinforced systems. Lightweight and versatile, they are ideal for fuel lines, oil breather hoses, and similar uses where reinforced strength is not required.

What is unreinforced fuel and oil hose?
A smooth extruded nitrile rubber hose with no braid or helix, for low-pressure transfer of petrol, diesel, lubricating oils and related hydrocarbons. Both inner and outer layers are NBR, giving good oil and fuel resistance, at 70 Shore A hardness. Built to BS EN ISO 11424:2007.

When can I use it?
Low-pressure work only - gravity feeds, tank breathers and vents, overflow and drain lines, and light transfer in 3mm to 10mm bores. It is very flexible and easy to route, which is its main advantage. Anything on a pressurised system needs a reinforced hose.

Why can't I use it on a pressurised fuel system?
Because it has no reinforcement, so there is no meaningful pressure rating - it will balloon and eventually split. Modern injection systems in particular run pressures this hose was never designed for. Use our multi-purpose, cotton braided or stainless overbraid hose instead.

Is it E5 and E10 compatible?
Yes - the nitrile compound is formulated for modern ethanol-blended fuels as well as diesel and oils. That matters on older vehicles, where the original hose predates ethanol blending and will be degrading internally regardless of how sound it looks on the outside.

What sizes and lengths do you supply?
Six sizes from 3mm to 10mm internal diameter, cut to order from 1 metre up to a 100 metre full coil. Order by internal diameter to match the outside diameter of the barb or spigot - it should be a firm push fit rather than a loose slide.

What does 70 Shore A mean?
It is a measure of the rubber's hardness. 70 Shore A is a moderately soft, flexible compound - firm enough to hold its shape and seal on a barb, soft enough to route easily round tight corners. It is a typical hardness for a flexible low-pressure hose of this type.
