What is a twin cone air filter?
A universal performance intake filter with a twin cone form, which gives a larger filtration surface area for a given overall length than a single cone. Ours is 220mm long with a 90-63mm neck and 360 degree airflow, using multi-layer foam filtration.

Why choose twin cone over single?
Surface area. More filtration area for the same length means the filter supports more airflow and clogs less quickly for a given amount of dirt. If your engine has a high air demand, or you are packaging the filter in a confined space, the twin cone is the better choice.

Will it fit my intake pipe?
The neck covers 90mm down to 63mm using the Filtech reducing rings, which come as a set of five. Match to your intake pipe outside diameter and clamp with a worm drive clip - or a T-bolt on a boosted installation. If your pipe falls outside that range, tell us and we will advise.

How do I clean and re-oil it?
Wash the foam in warm soapy water or a dedicated filter cleaner, rinse thoroughly and dry completely - never refit a damp filter. Re-oil evenly with proper foam filter oil until uniformly coloured, without over-saturating. Do not use engine oil; it drains out and can reach the MAF sensor.

Will it gain me power?
On a standard engine, usually very little on its own - the air filter is rarely the restriction. It earns its keep on a modified engine, alongside other intake work, or when replacing a clogged or genuinely restrictive original box. The reliable benefits are serviceability and reusability.

Do I need a heat shield?
If the filter sits in the engine bay drawing hot air, yes - hot intake air is less dense and undoes much of the benefit. Our aluminium heat shield fits 2.25 to 3.5 inch filters, in silver or black, and pairs well with a cold air feed from behind the grille.
