Our Rubber Matting & Rubber Flooring are made to last and work well in different places. You can pick from two styles – coin or checker – to add a bit of texture to your area while making sure it's safe and comfy to walk on.

What rubber matting do you stock?
Two thicknesses, 3mm and 5mm, in three patterns: checker plate, circular stud and smooth. Checker plate and circular stud give grip and hide marks; smooth is easier to sweep and mop. There is also a sample pack covering the finishes and thicknesses.

Which thickness should I choose?
5mm for a working van, workshop or loading area - it takes the abuse, deadens noise better and resists being punched through by dropped tools. 3mm for lighter duty, or where height and weight matter, such as a camper floor build where every millimetre of headroom counts.

Checker plate, circular stud or smooth?
Checker plate is the classic workshop and van floor look and hides scuffs well. Circular stud gives similar grip with a softer appearance and is slightly easier to clean. Smooth is the easiest to sweep and mop but shows marks and offers less grip underfoot when wet.

Where can I use it?
Van and pickup floors, workshop and garage floors, trailer beds, steps and walkways, gym and utility areas, and campervan floors. It cuts with a sharp knife and a straight edge, so it fits round wheel arches and fixings without difficulty.

Does it need gluing down?
Not always - in a van the weight of the mat and the shape of the floor often hold it in place, which has the advantage that it lifts out for cleaning. Glue it if it will be walked on constantly or if edges lift and become a trip hazard. Use a suitable contact adhesive rather than a general-purpose one.

Is it slip resistant?
Checker plate and circular stud both provide good grip, including when damp, which is why they are the usual choice for van floors and workshop areas. Smooth offers less grip when wet, so think carefully before using it anywhere people step in from outside in the rain.
