DIN4102-B1

The DIN4102-B1 collection is specifically designed to meet the stringent fire safety requirements outlined by the German standard for the classification of building materials and products. These hoses are engineered for applications where fire resistance is critical, providing reliable performance in environments that demand compliance with DIN4102-B1 regulations. Ideal for use in construction, automotive, and industrial settings, this collection enhances safety and minimizes risks associated with fire hazards.

Constructed from high-quality, fire-retardant materials, the DIN4102-B1 hoses offer exceptional resistance to ignition and flame spread. This critical characteristic helps protect lives and property by reducing the potential for fire-related incidents in various applications. The materials used in this collection are carefully selected to withstand high temperatures while maintaining flexibility, ensuring long-lasting performance even under challenging conditions.

Flexibility and ease of installation are key features of the DIN4102-B1 collection. These hoses are lightweight and designed for easy handling, allowing for efficient routing and positioning in confined spaces. Their adaptability makes them suitable for a variety of configurations, ensuring a secure and reliable fit in both standard and custom installations. This ease of installation is particularly beneficial in construction projects where time and efficiency are essential.

Safety is a top priority in the DIN4102-B1 collection. Each hose undergoes rigorous testing to ensure compliance with the fire safety standards established by DIN4102-B1, providing assurance that they will perform reliably in critical situations. This commitment to safety makes them an ideal choice for professionals who prioritize fire resistance in their projects.

The DIN4102-B1 hoses are also designed to perform effectively across a wide temperature range, maintaining their structural integrity and flexibility in both high-heat and cold environments. This versatility makes them suitable for diverse applications, from building services to automotive systems, ensuring dependable performance regardless of the surrounding conditions.

What is DIN 4102-B1?

A German fire classification for building materials. B1 designates a flame-retardant material - one that resists ignition and does not readily propagate flame. Our polyurethane ducting carries it, which matters in installed ventilation and extraction systems where fire behaviour is part of the specification.

Why does the classification matter?

Because ducting runs through buildings, often through voids and between compartments, and a duct that propagates flame is a serious hazard. If you are working to a building or insurance specification, the fire classification of the ducting is likely to be a stated requirement rather than a nicety.

What product carries it?

Polyurethane PU ducting, in 38mm to 300mm internal diameter and lengths from 1 to 20 metres. It has an embedded left-hand spiral wire helix, is rated -40C to +90C, and is highly abrasion resistant, which is why it suits dust and material handling.

Does flame retardant mean fireproof?

No, and the distinction matters. B1 means the material resists ignition and does not readily spread flame - it does not mean it will survive a fire or that it can carry hot gases. The temperature rating is still -40C to +90C, and that is the operational limit regardless of fire classification.

What is the ducting used for?

Air, dust and light material transfer in industrial, agricultural and commercial systems - workshop dust extraction, woodworking and CNC swarf removal, fume extraction, grain and feed handling, and general ventilation. Its abrasion resistance is the main advantage over PVC.

Can it be used on the suction side of a fan?

Yes - the embedded steel wire helix stops it collapsing under negative pressure, so it works on both sides of a fan or extractor. That is the fundamental difference between ducting and plain flexible hose, which pulls shut the moment you apply vacuum.
