Aluminium Straight Pipe

Straight aluminium pipe forms the backbone of any custom pipework run. This collection brings together our full range of straight T6063 aluminium sections — 1 metre lengths for fabricating from scratch, and shorter beaded and unbeaded joiners for linking hoses together — in outside diameters from 8mm right through to 102mm.

T6063 is the alloy of choice for pipework because it balances strength against weight. It is significantly lighter than steel, resists corrosion without needing a protective coating, and cuts, bends and welds cleanly, so it suits both one-off fabrication and production work. Every section has a smooth bore to keep airflow and fluid transfer efficient, with no internal steps or seams to create turbulence.

Beaded joiners carry a raised lip at each end that grips the hose and stops it walking off under boost or pressure, while unbeaded connectors give a clean slip fit where a hose clamp alone is enough or where the pipe needs to slide into an existing fitting. Choose the diameter to match your silicone hose ID, pair it with the right hose clamp, and you have a secure, permanent joint.

Typical uses include intercooler and turbo boost pipework, cold air intake systems, coolant and heater runs, breather lines, marine and agricultural plumbing, and general industrial pipe fabrication.

What straight aluminium pipe do you stock?

1 metre tube lengths in 8mm to 102mm outside diameter, beaded and unbeaded straight hose joiners in the same size range across 20 lengths from 50mm to 950mm, a fixed 100mm joiner, and an off-cut mixed box of assorted tube sections. All T6063 with a 1.6mm wall.

What is straight pipe used for?

It forms the hard sections of a custom pipework run - intercooler and intake plumbing, coolant runs, air feeds. A rigid section holds the bore round under pressure, stops the run flexing about, and gives a much tidier installation than a long unsupported length of flexible hose.

How do I build a run from it?

Cut tube to length, join the sections with elbows where you need direction changes, and connect everything with silicone coupling hoses and clamps. The flexible joints take up alignment errors, absorb engine movement and let the system come apart later. Deburr every cut inside and out.

What is it rated for?

T6063 aluminium, 1.6mm wall, -40C to +220C. It will not rust, needs no coating, and sheds heat well - useful in charge air pipework where the aim is to keep intake temperatures down. In most systems the hose is the limiting component rather than the pipe.

Beaded or unbeaded?

Beaded for pressurised joints - the raised lip gives the clamp a mechanical stop so the hose cannot slide off under boost. Unbeaded for coolant, breathers and low-pressure air, where the smooth end is easier to fit and lets you set the hose position precisely. Both cover the full size range.

How do I cut it cleanly?

A pipe cutter gives the squarest result; a fine-tooth blade works if you are careful. Either way, deburr both inside and outside afterwards - a sharp internal edge will score the hose bore and start a leak, and an external burr makes fitting the hose unnecessarily difficult.
