Longevity and heat. Silicone does not perish, harden or surface-crack with age, heat cycling and ozone exposure, which is what eventually kills every rubber hose. It runs to +250C against about +120C for EPDM rubber, and stays flexible in the cold. The trade-offs are cost and the fact that standard silicone is not fuel or oil compatible.

Built to SAE J20 R3 in 3 and 4 ply depending on bore, with a smooth extruded silicone inner layer, polyester braid reinforcement and a silicone outer. Continuous service -50C to +250C, working pressure from around 12.33 bar on small bores to 2.8 bar on large, burst up to 37 bar. Full tables are on each product page.

Not standard silicone - it swells and breaks down in contact with hydrocarbons. Use our fluorolined Fuel & Oil range, built to SAE J30 R6 with a fluorosilicone inner liner, compatible with E5 and E10 pump fuel. Remember this applies to breather and catch-can lines too, which carry oil mist even when nothing liquid is flowing.

Order by internal diameter, matched to the outside diameter of the metal pipe or stub the hose slides onto. Measure the pipe itself with vernier callipers, not the hose you are taking off - silicone and rubber stretch in service, so an old hose reads larger than the pipe it was fitted to and will lead you a size out.

Blue, black and red across the standard range; the Fuel & Oil and Classic Wrapped hoses are black only. If you are building a complete system, order all the straights, elbows, couplers and reducers together - shades are consistent within a batch but can differ slightly between them, which shows if you add to a system later.
