Rubber Multi-Purpose Fuel & Oil Hose is a flexible and durable hose engineered for the safe transfer of petrol, diesel, lubricating oils, and other hydrocarbon-based products. Designed for reliability in automotive, marine, agricultural, and industrial environments, the hose is constructed from high-quality fuel- and oil-resistant rubber. Its smooth internal bore ensures efficient flow with minimal turbulence, while the reinforced wall provides strength and resistance to wear, vibration, and thermal cycling. Available in a wide range of diameters, the Rubber Multi-Purpose Fuel & Oil Hose is suitable for both low- and medium-pressure applications, delivering dependable performance in demanding conditions.

Key Features:

  • Material: Fuel and oil-resistant rubber for long service life in hydrocarbon applications.

  • Internal Diameter Range: Available in multiple sizes to suit varied system requirements.

  • Wall Thickness: Typically 3–3.5 mm depending on bore size.

  • Working Pressure: Up to 12 bar (smaller bores), reducing to 3 bar (larger bores).

  • Burst Pressure: Minimum 3x working pressure, up to 36 bar depending on size.

  • Bending Radius: From 66 mm in small bore sizes to 348 mm in larger diameters.

  • Operating Temperature: -20°C to +100°C (peak +110°C).

  • Lengths Supplied: Standard coil lengths of 50 m or 100 m depending on size.

The Rubber Multi-Purpose Fuel & Oil Hose offers superior compatibility with fuels and oils compared to standard rubber tubing, preventing swelling, cracking, or hardening when exposed to hydrocarbons. Its multi-layer rubber construction ensures dimensional stability under vibration and thermal cycling, while the smooth bore promotes efficient fuel or oil transfer with reduced pressure loss. With burst ratings up to three times the working limit, the hose provides robust safety margins across a range of system pressures. Lightweight yet durable, it is easy to handle and install, making it suitable for both production environments and maintenance work.

Applications include automotive fuel lines, oil system connections, breather and vapour lines, marine fuel transfer, agricultural machinery, and general-purpose hydrocarbon handling in industrial environments. Rubber Multi-Purpose Fuel & Oil Hose is widely trusted by engineers, mechanics, and fabricators for its proven reliability, pressure handling, and long-term durability.

How to measure ID

ID OD wall reinforcement plies ID = bore · OD = ID + (2 × wall)
1
Measure the pipe, not the old hose
Heat and age make a used hose swell and go out of round. Take your reading across the metal outlet the hose slides onto — that measurement is your ID.
2
Use vernier calipers
Set the outer jaws across the widest point of the pipe. A tape measure round a curve reads low by a millimetre or two — enough to buy the wrong size.
3
Take three readings, keep the largest
Rotate 60° between each. If they disagree the pipe is oval; size to the biggest figure so the hose still seals.
4
Round to the nearest listed bore
Never go up: a bore wider than the fitting will not grip, whatever the hose is made of. If you land between listed sizes take the smaller bore, and secure it with a clip.
Order by ID, always. Every hose on this site is listed by internal diameter. OD is given for clearance only — it changes with wall thickness and ply count, so it is never the ordering size. On reducers, quote both ends, largest first.

What is it used for?

Transferring petrol, diesel, lubricating oils and other hydrocarbons in automotive, marine, agricultural and industrial systems.

What size and length do I order?

Order by internal diameter, matched to the outside diameter of the pipe stub or spigot it slides over. Measure the pipe with vernier callipers rather than the old hose, which stretches in service and reads large. Available in internal diameters from 5mm to 25mm, lengths from 1 Metre to 50 Metres (Full Coil). Full coils work out considerably better value per metre than cut lengths.

What standard is it built to?

It is manufactured to SAE J30 R6. Buying to a recognised standard matters here - it means the construction, pressure rating and performance have been benchmarked rather than simply described.

Is it compatible with E5 and E10 petrol?

Yes - the nitrile-based compound is formulated for modern ethanol-blended fuels as well as diesel and oils. Ethanol attacks unsuitable rubber from the inside, so an older line can look perfectly sound externally while breaking down internally and shedding debris into the fuel system.

How do I know when it needs replacing?

Squeeze it. Hard and brittle, or spongy and swollen, both mean it is done. Look for surface cracking when you flex it and crusty residue or staining round the clips, which indicates seepage. Replace on condition rather than waiting for a failure.

How should it be secured?

Proper hose clips, one at each end, positioned squarely over the barb or spigot. Support long runs with rubber-lined P-clips so the hose cannot chafe against a bracket, panel or wiring loom, and keep it clear of exhaust components.
