What rubber cooling products do you stock?
Straight radiator hose from 5mm to 102mm, heater hose in 16mm to 25mm, wire reinforced radiator hose in 13mm to 51mm, moulded 45 and 90 degree elbows in 10mm to 76mm, coupling joiners in 25 bores in short and long lengths, and an off-cut mixed box of assorted sections.

What is it rated for?
EPDM rubber to SAE J20 R3, rated -30C to +120C and glycol rated for standard antifreeze mixes. That is the specification of virtually all original-equipment coolant hose and it covers automotive, marine, agricultural and industrial cooling. It is not suitable for fuel or oil - hydrocarbons attack EPDM.

When do I need the wire reinforced version?
Whenever the hose must resist vacuum or crushing - typically a long lower radiator hose that can collapse as the water pump pulls against it, any run on the suction side of a pump, or a hose that must bend tightly without kinking. The steel helix in the wall is what holds the bore open.

Should I use a moulded elbow or bend a straight hose?
Use a moulded elbow for any real change of direction. Bending a straight hose closes up the bore, restricts flow and creates a stress point that will split eventually, usually without warning. Our rubber elbows have 150mm legs each side, 300mm total, so there is plenty to trim to fit.

Why do radiator hoses fail?
Age, heat cycling and coolant chemistry. Squeeze the hose: hard and brittle, or spongy and swollen, both mean it has had it. Look for surface cracking when flexed and crusty residue or staining around the clips, which indicates seepage. Replace on condition rather than waiting for a failure.

What is a coupling joiner for?
Joining two pipe stubs or two lengths of hose - repairing a split section without replacing a whole moulded hose, extending a run, or adapting between hard pipes. Available in 25 bores from 5mm to 102mm, in 50, 75 and 100mm lengths for short joins and 250, 500 and 750mm for longer gaps.
