ABS Plastic Hose Reducer Joiner is a lightweight and durable connector designed to reduce hose sizes securely in automotive, industrial, and fluid transfer applications. Manufactured from high-quality ABS plastic, the reducer offers excellent toughness, heat resistance, and chemical stability while maintaining a lightweight profile. The precision 3D-printed smooth bore ensures consistent flow and minimal restriction when transitioning between two different hose diameters. Easy to install and resistant to vibration, cracking, and corrosion, the reducer joiner provides a cost-effective and long-lasting alternative to metal fittings.

Key Features:

  • Material: ABS plastic for strength, lightweight performance, and chemical resistance.

  • Temperature Range: -30°C to +120°C, suitable for air, coolant, and general fluid transfer.

  • Design: Precision 3D-printed reducer with smooth bore for efficient flow between different hose sizes.

  • Weight: Lightweight ABS construction compared to aluminium or stainless steel reducers.

  • Applications: Automotive cooling systems, intake and breather lines, vacuum systems, and general hose reduction needs.

Built from reinforced ABS plastic, the hose reducer joiner delivers long service life under continuous use, resisting damage from heat, vibration, and chemical exposure. The smooth internal bore reduces turbulence, ensuring reliable flow through the system. Its lightweight build makes it an excellent choice in situations where weight saving is important, while its corrosion resistance ensures dependable operation across varied environments.

Applications for the ABS hose reducer include adapting coolant and heating hoses, air and vacuum line transitions, and fluid transfer systems in automotive, agricultural, and industrial setups. With its combination of durability, heat resistance, and lightweight design, the ABS Plastic Hose Reducer Joiner provides a simple, reliable, and cost-efficient solution for connecting hoses of different diameters.

How to measure OD

hose fits over OD bore OD = the surface the hose clamps onto
1
Measure across the outside
Rigid pipe, tube and joiners are sized by the outer wall, because that is the surface a hose seals against. The bore and wall thickness follow from it — they are not the ordering size.
2
Use vernier calipers
Set the outer jaws across the widest point. A tape measure round a curve reads low by a millimetre or two — enough to buy the wrong size.
3
Take three readings, keep the largest
Rotate 60° between each. If they disagree the tube is oval; size to the biggest figure so the hose still clamps down evenly.
4
Match the hose to this OD
The hose sleeves over the tube, so the hose you want is the one whose internal diameter equals this outside diameter. A 51 mm tube takes a 51 mm ID hose.
Order by OD, always. Tube, rigid pipe and joiners are listed by outside diameter — the surface the hose clamps onto. Pair one with a hose of the same ID. On reducers, quote both ends, largest first.

Plastic Inline Reducing Hose Connector

✅ 3D Printed ✅ ABS Plastic ✅ Thick Walled

What is it used for?

Joining two hoses of different internal diameters in low-pressure water, pond, ducting and general workshop plumbing.

How do I size one?

Match the barb outside diameter to your hose internal diameter. It should need a firm push to go on - warming the hose end in hot water makes a tight fit far easier. If it slides on loosely it is too small. Available in outside diameters from 12mm to 8mm to 90mm to 76mm, in black, white, blue and red.

Do I need clips?

On anything pressurised, or anything that matters if it comes off, yes - one each side. The barb resists pull-off but does not seal on its own once the hose relaxes with age and temperature. A stainless clip is cheap insurance.

When should I use metal or silicone instead?

For anything pressurised, hot, or carrying fuel or oil. Plastic has neither the temperature range nor the strength for engine bay work. We stock aluminium beaded and unbeaded joiners from 8mm to 102mm and silicone couplers from 13mm to 152mm for those applications.

What is it made from?

ABS plastic, thick walled. That gives good strength for a plastic fitting, resistance to corrosion in constant contact with water, and a low cost. What it does not give is temperature range or strength for pressurised systems.

What temperature will it take?

It is a general-purpose ABS fitting for ambient and low-temperature use. Keep it away from engine bays, hot process fluid and exhaust heat, where you need metal or silicone. If you are unsure about your temperature, tell us and we will confirm.
