When I first saw the heater pipe arrangement on a 2CV, I thought they looked a wee bit “hit & miss”, but I hadn’t appreciated that the cardboard tubes were lined with foam.
On the occasional use of our 2CV during the winter, there was not much heat coming onto the driver’s windscreen and yet, the heat exchangers and cable adjustments were all perfect. The foam within the driver’s side screen pipe had folded in on itself, not at the ends but halfway down the pipe. I tried to coax it back into position with a broom handle, but it kept bulging and blocked the flow of air.
I bought two meters of this silicon (double layered, coil wound) heater pipes . One length was 63mm diameter and the other 70mm diameter. The difference to the heater performance is astounding. They are available in red, blue, grey or black. If I were to order again I'd probably opt for grey, but the "red" versions guarantee an extra few horsepower, which (if you own a 2CV) is always welcome!

I only wanted a short piece of ducting for my aircraft and didn't want to pay for 4m. Very few suppliers have the 'right' product at the 'right' price. Easy to use website and order arrived very quickly. Doesn't get any better than this!

Arrived promptly despite being the Christmas period. Hose did the job - note that black hose was supplied as the red was out of stock, however colour was not important in my application.
